Teachers Leave Lasting Footprints...

There are so many great people at the Dawe School. My son Frankie has Ms. Norcott this year and we couldn't be happier. She has been very successful in helping him to grow and learn. Her patience with all of her students is commendable. I as a parent appreciate her hard work and involvement in my sons learning. THANK YOU!

Ms. Carter is a great addition to the Dawe School. She had my son as a student in 2nd and 3rd grade. She goes out of her way to make the children feel important. Her fresh ideas in the classroom keep the kids involved. THANK YOU!

I would like to remind Mrs. Caizza of the impact that she had on my son as well. Thank you again for all of your caring and patience! The Gilmore family

To Ms. Morrison: You have been a wonderful teacher to our son David. The enthusiasm you show toward your students shows in how much they want to come through and do a good job in their projects and school work. Thank you for being such a dedicated teacher, the Dawe school is most fortunate to have you.

To Mrs. Caizza: A wonderful teacher and human being! The definition of teacher has your name right next to it in the dictionary. Our entire family has been so blessed to know you. Thank you for caring so much for children. The world is a better place for you being in it.

To Mr. Barner: Thank you for carrying on the wonderful traditions that have made the Dawe school so family oriented. Thank you for establishing a healthy and safe environment for our children. The Twerago Family

You're the best, Mrs. Melendy! Thanks for all that you have done to help Trevor out this year and for your kindness and caring.

Thank you to all of the teachers and staff over the years as the Dubovy family departs the Dawe School. Including 3 years of preschool, Trevor has been at the Dawe School for nine years! We will miss you all and want to thank you for our fantastic elementary school experience. Best wishes to you all!

Thank you for all you do, Ms. Lutchen. And your Chris Van Ellsberg book assignment was one of the best projects Trevor has ever done!

Mrs. Murphy, thanks for all the laughs over the last two years! Trevor will miss you :-) The Dubovy family

Even though Mrs. Fisher’s time with my son this year was short, I was impressed right away with her obvious desire to help all of her students reach their fullest potential. Introducing us to the concept of OTSWYKs (Opportunities To Show What You Know) really helped him—and us—remember the real purpose of school—learning without stress and anxiety.

I already knew that Ms. McLaughlin was smart and helpful with a great attitude from seeing her in the library. When she took over my son’s 3rd grade class, I knew she’d do nothing but help Cameron build on the solid foundation started in September. And I was right! She can teach my children any time!

Mr. Barner - I never thought I’d know so much about MCAS! Thanks for all of the information that you so readily share with parents like me. I so appreciate your openness and accessibility.

Ms. Donadio - Haley was so excited to enter Kindergarten this year, and you were the perfect match for her. Anyone who can send her home with a smile on her face and stories to tell about what she learned that day deserves an A+ in my book. I have no doubt that 20 years from now, Haley will still remember you and the great times she had in Room 1. Melissa Nelson

Mrs. Caizza - Thank you for your patience, love and unyielding support. Your generous spirit, commitment and dedication to the children is evident in all that you endeavor to do. The children adore you, not just for being a terrific teacher, but for the wonderful person you are inside. The world and our children are equally blessed with your presence. May you continue to touch the lives of so many in the remarkable way that you do. Wishing you continued success and support, Victoria Dantzler & Family.

Mrs. Woodbury has been a wonderful teacher to our daughter Liliana. Lili enjoys school, has learned a lot and has made great friendships. Her positive kindergarten experience is a credit to Mrs. Woodbury.

Mrs. McLaughlin has always been helpful and patient with us as new parents to the school. We thank her for this.

Mrs. Melendy has seen a lot of Liliana this year and has always treated her with warmth and compassion. She has been instrumental in helping us keep Liliana healthy and always goes above and beyond in communicating with us. Tanya and Steve Lozano

Thanks to Mr. Warriner for making school fun and math enjoyable. The kids really appreciate his sense of humor. (Amelia Cochran's mom)

Mrs. Lewis is the BEST 1st. Grade teacher ever!!!!! My oldest daughter who is now 15 yrs old, loved her & so did we. All of us were excited that Mackenzie was going to also have Mrs. Lewis as her teacher. She is very patient with the children & they all seem to love her!! Thank You very much, Bob, Sandy, Marissa & Mackenzie Desmond

Mrs. E is the very best! Not only is she a calming, enthusiastic aid in the classroom-she has the best fuse bead talents of anyone we know! Thanks for caring so much. Love, Lauren

Mrs. Brauneis is the best gatekeeper ever. I love to help her with gate duty and bring her treats sometimes when my mom remembers! Love, Lauren

Mrs. Welch was so missed while she was out having her beautiful baby but Mrs. Hansen did a fantastic job leading the class in her absence.

Mrs. B, it is so nice to have you as the teacher liaison with the PTO, your big smile and calming presence make for a good PTO meeting. We appreciate your support and spending time with us.

Mrs. Melendy takes such good care of our kids when they don't feel well. She has such a nice way to make the kids feel better while waiting for mom or dad to arrive.

Mr. Barner has made the school look fantastic, I love all the pictures on the walls! It is fun to wander the hall looking at all those proud faces.

Mrs. Fischer runs the best kitchen and she helps so much with the Dawe School Fair--thanks Linda!! Lit Turner

I would like to thank Ms. Donadio and Mrs. Standish for making Kylee's first year of school great! Thanks to them she loves school and loves to learn. One of her favorite games to play at home is school, and of course she's always the teacher. You're doing a great job! Thanks! Rachel Kalweit

Our daughter, Tara, is in Rosemary Barry's room 9 classroom at the Dawe. We would like to say that Rosemary, Amy, Joe and all of Tara's therapists have been wonderful throughout this school-year (and previous years). They are a terrific group of educators, who really put a lot of effort into helping Tara excel as best as possible. Thank you! Cindy & Jim DeSisto

Mrs. Leahy, I hope you get to see this! All I can say is THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for being such a wonderful teacher. Donnie had a fabulous year with you. He has matured so much since last September and there is no doubt he is ready for Middle School. Congratulations on the birth of your son - heard you were at school in the morning and had him by the end of the school day! The Foley family

A big thank you to Mrs.Welch for creating an environment where my son is excited to learn. Thanks also to Mrs. Hanson for filling in earlier in the year. My son still sings the little songs you taught him. Carla and Brian Walecka

I cannot say enough about the staff at the Dawe elementary school. There are so many that have touched our lives in such a positive way over the past years and who have made such a difference: Mrs. B, Mrs. Caizza, Mrs. Jacobs, Mrs. Welch, Ms.Carter, Mrs. E, Mrs. Celia, Ms. Morrison, Ms. Atler and the list goes on. The school offers a true sense of extended family. Thank you for all you have done for us over the years! We appreciate you all more than you will ever know. Diane Tynan, Christine Corleto & Joe Corleto

Thank you! Nurse Melendy, Mrs B, Mrs. McLaughlin, Mrs. Celia, Miss Norcott, Mrs. MacDonald, Mrs. Lahey We love the Dawe School. Our kids entered the Dawe in March 2007, Nico & Michela were in a new home and a new school, very scary for them, so much change. The teachers and staff made this an easy transition for all of us and for that we are so very thankful .....to all of you.

Miss Celia was wonderful and made Nico feel right at home. Mrs. Lahey made Michela feel the same way....they have made an impact in our kids lives and this continues year after year. Tony & Deb

My son Scott has had Cassie Lieter and we are thanking God for that! She has been an amazing teacher to Scott. She has tremendous patience and compassion yet mixed perfectly with the skills to push him even when he is not as willing. She has managed to help him learn how to handle changes and begin to adapt. He now plays with peers and has increased socialization skills. I am so grateful she has been such a strong influence in his life. I NEVER worry about Scott when he is in her room. Karen Lewandowski

My son Anthony is in Miss Celia's room (10) and she has been an amazing teacher to him. She has managed to mix the role of teacher, guidance counselor, friend, and coordinator all in one. She has managed to help him begin to learn so much, I see huge changes in him from last year and am grateful she does not give up on him. She has been a tremendous influence and support to him during this difficult year for tony. I also appreciate immensely all her help regarding the class room topics and how I can also help reinforce the teaching at home the correct way. She also gives me a progress note every day which helps as well. Thanks a bunch.

My son Anthony has Miss Landon as well, she rocks!! She has helped Tony out in so many ways I could never list them all. She sees him every day and knows exactly how to push him in a gentle firm way that has made a difference. Miss Landon has helped Tony gain confidence in his reading and math skills. I am very grateful for all her help and encouragement to my son and myself.

Mrs. MacDonald, Mark has enjoyed having you this year and he missed you during your maternity leave. It's been a fast year, and Mark has really progressed in his reading. Thanks, Mrs. Anastasi

Mrs. O'Sullivan, Mark is FINALLY finished with speech. You really helped him these past three years, we owe a lot to your dedication and encouragement. Plus Mark's hard work. Best wishes. Thanks, Mrs. Anastasi

Our family moved to Stoughton from Brookline last June. Being new to the school and the Town of Stoughton where we did not know a sole of course my daughter had such anxiety about going to school. This past year the transition was made easily by all the friendly people at Dawe. From the very first phone call I made to the school last April I had the pleasure of talking with Mrs. Evangelista. In that phone call so many worries were alleviated from her welcoming manner. She informed me of different activities and things offered by the town where my daughter could make friends. Later in the year she actually became my daughter's cheerleading coach which she really enjoyed.

Another person that I feel was most welcoming was Mrs. Correia. She embraced Jada as a new student and really helped her open up and make many, many new friends. She is an excellent teacher and I am so incredibly pleased that we made this move. People thought we would be "downgrading" for lack of a better word in what would be offered as far as schooling goes coming from infamous Brookline but I have to say the education, community and overall lifestyle is FAR SUPERIOR to anything we have experienced in the ten years we lived in Brookline. I only wish we had moved sooner!!! Christine Sheedy - Mother to Jada Sheedy-Remy

This was our first year at the Dawe and my first grader has loved having Mrs. Lewis as her teacher. She is fun and my daughter, Kaelyn, adores her. She has made our adjustment to the new school a great experience. Thank you Mrs. Lewis!

Many special thanks go out to Mrs. Barry and her team in room 9, CHARMSS Collaborative. Without them, my son's success would not be possible today. They are dedicated teachers who are cherished every day. Thank you for all you do. Alison Eskenas, parent of 3rd grade boy.

Carly Carter is fabulous! My son is in her class and I help her out on occasion. What I witness is amazing. She is patient, smart, organized and attentive. Dear Ms. Lutchen, We wanted to thank you so very much for inspiring Lizzy and all your fifth grade students to believe in themselves and truly enjoy learning with you as their teacher. You have a wonderful way of incorporating games such as Scrabble on the Smart board, or challenging them with new books such as Twilight to read, or sharing exciting stories from Australia ( Lizzy wants to travel there someday) to broaden their horizons. Lizzy describes you as one of her favorite teachers at the Dawe School, how fun it is to be a student in your class, and how much she will miss you next year.
