Bucketloads of Appreciation for the Dawe School Staff!

To all the Teachers at the Dawe Elementary School:
A poem
The Best Teachers
Teachers open up young minds,
showing them the wonders of the intellect
and the miracle
of being able to think for themselves.
A teacher exercises
the mental muscles of students,
stretching and stengthening,
so they can make challenging decisions,
find their way in the world,
and become independent.
The best teachers care enough
To gently push and prod students
to do their best
and fulfill their potential.
You are one of those.
Thank you.
By Joanna Fuchs

Mrs. Caizza has such an influence on my daughter that I am thrilled. Lauren loves her--and all her crazy personalities. Mrs. B - In all the years my children have been at the school I don't think I have ever seen Mrs B without a nice big smile on her face. She is such a great resource for the parents, staff and children. Her bucket should be filled a hundred times a day!

Nurse Melendy - So calming and sweet, she makes a trip to the nurse a pleasant experience versus a scary one. I wish my daughter wasn't so comfortable visiting her for every boo boo that she can find but at least I know she has a familiar comforting place to go when she needs to.

Mr. Barner - The school has never looked so good with all the photos and things on the walls. Your enthusiasm for making our school the best place to learn is great…keep up the good work!

As a little girl in elementary school I had alot of wonderful teachers. I, however, was a momma's girl. I only wanted my Mom even to the dismay of my father. Then in second grade I got a teacher that I adored!! She was a student teacher so I only had her for a portion of the year. I would look so forward to going to school every day just to see her. To this day I ask myself the question....why did I get so attatched to this particular teacher more than anyone else in my educational career??? Why....because I felt how much she really LOVED all of us (her students). It was like a mothers love to their children. So, when my daughter was getting her first grade placement and it said Mrs. Caizza the name automatically rang a bell. Could it be the same Mrs. Caizza that I had, that left a lasting impression on my life?? The answer was yes!! I was so excited for my daughter, Grace. I knew she would have the BEST year. As those kind of teachers come around once in a lifetime. As a self-proclaimed over-protective mom, I send my daughter to school happily each day, knowing that she will be with not only an awesome teacher but a second mom!! Case in point...one day her feet got wet a recess and Mrs. Caizza had her ( and other students) take their shoes and socks off and put them on the radiator to dry up while she wrapped their feet in warm jackets. I could go on and on about how this wonderful, amazing, special person goes above and beyond her job description to make the school year special for all her students AND the parents!! The only bad thing about having Mrs. Caizza as a teacher is when you have to say good-bye in June. We have explained to Grace that she is a once in a lifetime kind of teacher and how lucky she was to have had her!! Mrs. Caizza....my husband and I want to thank you for all you have done for Grace. I always want to make the best memories for her. You will be one of her best childhood memories as you were mine!! Now that you have come into my life a second time, you are stuck with me. I will continue to harrass you!! ;) I will be forever grateful for all you have done for me, Grace and looking into the future....for Emma in 2012!!! ;) From the bottom of our hearts.....we LOVE you!!!!! Karen Benoit
