Why Should I Join the PTO?
Transition through Elementary School ~ other parents are helpful and supportive resources!

The PTO is a great way for you to really feel connected to the Dawe School family... School routines will be demystified, faces will become familiar, and the many questions will be answered!
You'll understand so much more about your student's day - he/she may not always share enough details of the school days!
You'll have a chance to make wonderful new friends, and you may increase your student's social circle, as well!

Children benefit from parent/guardian involvement!

When your student sees you involved in their school in any way at all, they see how important their education is to you and they often feel proud that you are there!
PTO volunteers are just that: volunteers! Find a way to participate that appeals to your interests and fits in with your busy schedule. You will always have SUPPORT, so try something new!
Throughout the year, many different opportunities are available for all kinds of people with varied interests and abilities: Writing, taking photos, baking, supervising games at the Spring Fair, helping children select books at the Book Fair, organizing a fundraiser, collecting Box Tops, supporting the Membership Drive...and yes, there is occasional heavy lifting to be done, for those with strong backs! Often children can help - which is an ego-boost for them and another opportunity to grow!

You will feel good about giving! We are all members of the PTO, whether or not we pay the modest membership fee

Dawe School has a very active PTO and ALL children and families of the Dawe benefit from our quality programs, from in-school enrichments to field trips to MCAS camp and MUCH MORE!
We host LOTS of fundraisers! - we believe having a great variety of fundraisers will appeal to families' different interests. We don't expect you to support every fundraiser; do what feels right for your family… and of course, we always gratefully accept cash or checks!! :)
